Picnic honors Iraq veterans

On Saturday, the VFW Hall in Hillyard at 2902 E. Diamond Ave., will host a picnic to honor our soldiers returning from Iraq.

Free meals for children

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Spokane County, 544 E. Providence Ave., will offer a Simplified Summer Food Program for Children.

The program will run June 23 through Aug. 15 and is closed July 4. Meals are available at no charge to attending children under the age of 19.
