Single-car crash crushes, kills man

The Spokesman-Review

A man died in a one-vehicle crash Wednesday near Medical Lake, authorities said.

The pickup the man was in apparently flipped, partially ejecting and crushing him, said Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Dave Reagan.

Authorities are unclear when the man crashed on Wednesday, but he was discovered about 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Ladd and Chase roads by a passer-by, Reagan said. The area is sparsely populated and the roads are gravel.

The truck’s cab was so crushed that detectives were unable to remove the man immediately, Reagan said.

Speed was a factor in the crash.

Deputies continue to investigate the crash, Reagan said.
