Seattle’s Tom Phillips won the 44th Pacific Northwest Senior Men’s Amateur on the second sudden-death playoff hole at Loomis Trail Golf Club in Blaine, Wash.

Phillips, who led by five strokes with seven holes to play, bogeyed three of the last five holes while struggling with a pulled muscle. Keith Crimp of Ellensburg tied Phillips at 6-over-par 222, but Crimp hit his second shot on the second playoff hole out of a bunker and into a water hazard.

Colville’s Kent Brown tied for 20th at 236, one shot better than Colbert’s Ron Janney.
