Nightmare trade

The Spokesman-Review

I had a dream. It was a real fantasy. It was about a Major League Baseball team that was really going to set the world on fire.

They somehow figured they needed an exceptional pitcher to make their move as contenders. They made a trade, let’s call it a 5-for-1 deal. They then sent a couple of hitters off to who knows where, because who needs hitters when you have an A-1 pitcher?

No one told them that just maybe they could have used the hitters to score some runs to maybe help the pitchers out a little.

Lo and behold, we shall maybe have to wait until next year to make the right moves to carry them to the top. Maybe some wise sages who can foresee some wiser trades to bring power to some hitless wonders. I say it is going to be a long season, so why not concede this time and prep for 2009?

Maybe revise the lineup – ninth batter first, etc. It might just work.
