‘Responsibility to educate children belongs to all of us’

My family and I have been members of the East Valley community for 29 years and I have been an employee for 17.

My children attended and graduated from schools that had been newly renovated and equipped with modern technology. That was a number of years ago, and even though the schools have been well kept, through the normal wear and tear of many children passing through the doors, it is time for renovation once again.

And, as we all know, technology stands still for no one. To offer our children a quality education we must be up to date with our technology. Part of the bond monies would go to modernizing the technology equipment in our buildings. By voting yes for the East Valley bond issue, we will be able to provide these things for the children.

Now is a perfect time to do this, since we would be able to access matching funds from the state. This would be a replacement bond so it would not be an added expense to homeowners. In fact, the cost would be less than we are presently paying.

The responsibility to educate the children belongs to all of us, whether we have children in school or not. We need to provide them with the newest technological advantages in a safe, healthy, environment. They truly are our future.

Please join with me and my family by voting “yes” on March 11 for the East Valley bond issue.
