Liberty Lake blotter

Liberty Lake Police had a bumper crop of calls and arrests the week of March 3-10. Several of the 10 arrests were for driving with a suspended license and failure to show liability insurance.

Those arrested for those two charges include 45-year-old Timothy S. Bernal of Otis Orchards, 39-year-old Cindy K. Hansen of Otis Orchards, 36-year-old Janelle M. McLaughlin of Newman Lake and Liberty Lake resident Cody L. Thompson, 22.

Shane L. Smith, 19, of Newman Lake was arrested on a charge of reckless driving by speed. He was caught going 105 miles per hour on Appleway at 6:30 p.m. on March 9, said police chief Brian Asmus. The speed limit there is 45 mph.

Jesse D. Jacobson, 31, of Liberty Lake was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia. Robert L. O’Donnell, 20, of Greenacres was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license and reckless driving by speed.

Other arrests include 20-year-old Allen R. Robertson of Newman Lake on a charge of possession of marijuana and 25-year-old Paul H. Severs for driving with a suspended license. Bernard L. Robinson, 42, of Airway Heights, was arrested on a warrant out of Airway Heights for driving under the influence, a U.S. Marshall’s warrant for robbery and a Department of Corrections warrant for escape.

Citations were handed out for a disabled parking violation, license in possession/display, defective brakes, failure to obey a traffic control device and failure to move left for approaching emergency vehicle. There were also three citations for license and plates required, two for driving with a suspended license, 11 for failure to show liability insurance, two for failure to stop/yield at an intersection and five for speeding.

The department was also dispatched to an animal call, a residential burglary with attempted forced entry, a commercial vehicle inspection, a commercial vehicle violation, domestic violence, forgery, harassment, several theft calls and a recovered stolen vehicle.
