Registration for the Spokane Valley Baseball League begins Monday and continues through April 17.

The organization, which has fielded youth teams for more than 50 years, has four divisions for ages 4 through 12.

Registration fees include all equipment and uniforms. Fees: tee ball (age 4-6) $80; coach pitch (age 7-8) $90; pee wee (age 9-10) $110; midget (age 11-12) $110.

Coaches, sponsors and umpires are always needed. Office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from noon to 4 p.m. at 12505 E. Sprague Ave. (back of Sports Creel building). Call 922-0420 or visit the Web site at spokanevalleybaseball.com

Festival to benefit SCRAPS

Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service will host its third annual Chocolate Festival and Auction on March 28 to raise money for the SCRAPS animal shelter, shelter programs and the Animal Medical Fund.

The event will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at CenterPlace, 2426 N. Discovery Place. The cost is $20. Call 477-2532 for tickets or more information.

Egg hunt benefits food bank

The Good Samaritan Society’s annual Easter egg hunt, a benefit for the Spokane Valley Partners Food Bank, is scheduled for next Saturday.

The hunt begins at 1 p.m. at Spokane Valley Good Samaritan, 17121 E. Eighth Ave. The event is for children up to age 12. More than 4,000 colored and candy-filled plastic eggs will be available. Entry is two nonperishable food items per child. Participants get a free picture with the Easter bunny. Without a food item, cost of pictures is $2.

Liberty Lake

Easter egg hunt at Trailhead

The Liberty Lake Youth Commission, partnered with the Valley HUB, will host the second annual All Fool’s Easter Egg Hunt March 29 at 7 p.m.

The event is open to kids and teens in grades 5 through 12 at Trailhead Golf Course in Liberty Lake. Eggs filled with candy and prizes will be placed around the golf course. Register at City Hall, 22710 E. Country Vista Drive, today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. or Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m.

Tickets are $5 per person. Half of the money raised will be donated to the Valley HUB, which provides regional sports and recreational programming for every age.

Candy and prize donations are needed to help fill the Easter eggs for the kids. Volunteers are also needed support the Youth Commission through donations and volunteer time. For more information, call 755-6702 or 232-2510.
