Hoover to retire from College of Idaho

Associated Press The Spokesman-Review

CALDWELL, Idaho – The president of the College of Idaho, Bob Hoover, says he’ll retire after five years at the school in Caldwell.

Hoover said Monday he plans to stay until June 2009 but will leave earlier if the board of trustees finds a replacement sooner. The board already had begun identifying firms that could aid in a search for a successor.

In a letter to faculty, Hoover wrote that he loved the job but wants to spend more time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Hoover became president of the College of Idaho, which was then the Albertson College of Idaho, in 2003. He previously resigned as president of the University of Idaho amid questions over the handling of the University Place project in Boise.
