Schedule snowed out

The Spokesman-Review

Greater Spokane League activities coordinators haven’t quite seen early spring weather like this.

Rogers’ Eric Anderson said he was, “amazed” when he awoke Friday to find a couple of inches of snow on the ground.

“I haven’t canceled this many games before to where I’ve had to reschedule so many,” said University’s Ken Van Sickle.

Snowfall for the second straight day continued a trend of inclement weather that forced postponement of the entire slate of Friday’s GSL baseball (among eight in the area), softball (among nine) and boys soccer games, to be made up next week depending upon day availability.

North Idaho schools are still waiting to play on their home fields.

“We’re making up makeups of makeups,” said East Valley’s Joe Kostecka.
