Pargo is indeed worthy

The Spokesman-Review

I have to disagree with the letter by Larry Bauer (“Pargo not even best at GU,” March 9) stating that Jeremy Pargo is not worthy of being named the MVP of the WCC.

I also find his assertion that the conference is “full of high school teams” shows his complete lack of basketball knowledge.

Pargo is not only the best player in the WCC, but he is considered by many basketball experts to be one of the top point guards in the country. Pro scouts are watching him closely. We can only hope he comes back for his senior year and does not leave for an NBA team.

College basketball teams are made up of the best high school players. Do you really think a high school team could compete with a team in the WCC? The WCC sent three teams to the NCAA tournament. The Zags should be proud to win the regular- season championship in a very competitive conference. Well done!
