Andrew Kittredge struck out 15 batters in a seven-inning complete-game effort and Beau Brett hit a home run to power the Ferris Saxons to a 7-3 victory over the visiting North Central Indians in Greater Spokane League play on Saturday.

Brett’s homer was a solo shot in the bottom of the third inning. Jeff Minnerly went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs for the Saxons (4-0, 4-0).

Justin Murphy hit a two-run home run for the Indians (2-3, 2-3).

Elsewhere in the GSL, Jacob Olsuska belted a grand slam and Billy Moon went 4 for 5 with an RBI and scored two runs to send the visiting University Titans (3-0, 3-0) to a 13-6 victory over the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups (2-3, 2-3). Brandon Shyrock went 3 for 3 with a solo homer for U-Hi. … The Mead Panthers’ game at the Central Valley Bears was postponed until Wednesday.

•The Colville Indians (3-0, 2-0) rolled to an 8-2, 6-5 doubleheader sweep of the Deer Park Stags (0-3, 0-2) in Great Northern League play. In the second game, Ben Sprague’s RBI single capped a two-run seventh inning for the Indians. Gavin Earnhardt tossed a complete game to get the win in the opener. … The Cheney Blackhawks’ game at the Pullman Greyhounds was postponed.

•The Lewiston Bengals held the visiting Coeur d’Alene Vikings to five hits on the day en route to a 3-0, 11-1 doubleheader sweep in Inland Empire League play.

Track and field

Lewiston’s boys edged Vallivue 110-106 to win the Lewiston Invitational, while the Vallivue girls edged Pullman 73-65.5 to win.

The Lake City boys (86) were third, followed by Pullman (81) and Gonzaga Prep (66).

East Valley’s girls (61.5) placed third. Gonzaga Prep and Coeur d’Alene tied for fourth with 58 points.

Double winners for the girls were: Orofino’s Ellen Rouse (100, 200); CdA’s Kinsey Gomez (1,600, 3,200); Culdesac’s Taylor Hewett (400, high jump); East Valley’s Morgan Dunning (long jump, triple jump); and Pullman’s Anna Albrecht (shot put, discus).

Double winners for the boys were: East Valley’s Case Park (200, 400); Lake City’s John Coyle (1,600, 3,200); and Lewiston’s Cody Hays (shot put, discus).

•The North Central boys and Lewis and Clark girls earned team titles at the Dick Baker Invitational at North Central.

NC’s boys rolled past runner-up LC 93-63, while the LC girls beat runner-up NC 89-65.

LC’s Eleanor Siler won the 200 and 400, while NC’s Nick Roark won the 100 and 300 hurdles.

•West Valley swept the team titles and the West Valley Invitational.

The boys beat runner-up Newport 165-91, while the girls topped second-place Freeman 153-75.

WV’s girls had a pair of triple winners. Bri Almy won the 100, 200 and long jump, while Melissa Mauro won the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and high jump.

•Central Valley’s boys finished first and the CV girls were second at the Cross State Challenge in Snohomish.

CV’s boys drubbed runner-up Snohomish 86-42.5, while the Snohomish girls beat CV 81.5-53.5.

CV girls winners were Emilee Deishl (javelin), Devin Graff (shot put) and Eden Lake (3,200).

CV boys winners were Jayson Taylor (1,600, 3,200), Brad Whitley (400), Nick Pendergrass (110 high hurdles), Danny Groby (300 hurdles), Kyle Brown (pole vault), William Davis (triple jump) and Kyle Riordan (javelin).

Softball

The Colville Indians (4-0, 4-0) breezed to an 18-1, 12-0 doubleheader sweep over the host Deer Park Stags (0-5, 0-4) in Great Northern League play. The Indians outhit the Stags 35-4 on the day.

•The Lewiston Bengals and Coeur d’Alene Vikings split an Inland Empire League doubleheader with the Vikings winning the opener 1-0 and the Bengals taking the nightcap 3-0. CdA’s Amanda Edwards and Amber Coburn combined for a three-hit shutout in the first game. Amanda Hoffman’s two-run triple was the difference for Lewiston in the second game.
