Airport bids sent to FAA

IDAHO FALLS – Idaho Falls Regional Airport Director Lens Nelson said four bids received for a runway repair project are being sent to federal aviation authorities for approval.

Nelson said about $2.5 million separates the high bid from the low bid for the project, which will shut down the airport for about a month beginning in September.

Nelson said the Federal Aviation Administration is picking up 95 percent of the cost and will review the bids to make sure they comply with regulations.

Four construction companies submitted bids between $8.4 million and $10.9 million.
