Valley woman scheduled for ‘Today’

By The Spokesman-Review

When Mary Rosner and her two friends Penny Simonson and Luanne Castoldi made a deal to do the Valley Girl Triathlon as “The Big Ass Losers” back in 2006, Rosner never dreamed that was a step toward getting on NBC’s “Today.”

This morning, between 10 and 11 a.m., the Spokane Valley woman is scheduled to chat with Kathy Lee Gifford on national TV about how to lose weight and keep it off.

“I lost 180 pounds and yes, I’ve kept it off,” said Rosner, who worked as a chef. “I’ll be sharing some recipes on the show. I like to take the really fatty ones and make them low calorie so I can have them.”

“Today” connected with Rosner, 54, when she replied to a weight loss essay question on its Web site.
