Lohan making guest appearance on ‘Ugly Betty’

Looks like Britney isn’t the only pop tart to try her hand at television sitcoms.

Lindsay Lohan will make a guest appearance on the season finale of ABC’s “Ugly Betty,” according to Variety.

The 21-year-old actress is set to play an old schoolmate of America Ferrera’s title character, Betty Suarez, on the show’s May 22 season closer, according to the Hollywood trade paper.

Both Variety and Usmagazine.com said Lohan began shooting her scenes over the weekend.

She also is expected to appear in five episodes of “Ugly Betty” next season.

Britney Spears was a hit when she made a March 24 guest appearance as a bubbly secretary on the CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother,” boosting that show’s audience by a million viewers over the previous week.

Spears will reprise her role in Monday’s episode.
