Visual search sites get another look

The Spokesman-Review

The latest in the long line of “visual” search sites is Viewzi.com. Like others such as Microsoft’s Tafiti and Spacetime3D, Viewzi produces a panel of Web slides, each one offering a different take or collection of search results.

Search for “Washington state wines,” for instance. Instead of finding 8 million results on Google, with Viewzi, you get a row of smaller panels called “views.” Each view contains a set of results that are displayed visually – and each view has a different perspective. One is plain news. Another is Yahoo and Google results. Another is comprised just of interesting images related to wine. Another is a shopping-related view.

To use it, you need to sign up for a beta account.
