Child Safety Day planned Saturday

A Child Safety Day will be held in the Liberty Lake Albertsons parking lot Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There will be a bike rodeo, child safety seat inspections and Operation Family ID. State Farm Insurance will provide free bicycle helmets and Cycle Sports will be on hand to inspect bicycles. Representatives from the Valley Fire Department and Liberty Lake Police Department will also be there.

Spring String Fling concert tonight

More than 350 East Valley orchestra students will perform during the 28th annual Spring String Fling tonight at 7 p.m. at East Valley High School, 15711 E. Wellesley Ave.

The theme for this year’s event is “A Musical Journey: Passport to Success.” The students will also perform a tribute to local composer Mark Williams.
