Injured biker stranded for days

MOSES LAKE – An injured motorcycle rider spent two days next to Interstate 90 near Moses Lake hoping to be rescued.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office said the 44-year-old Moses Lake man was able to throw his red sweater into the tree limbs above him. And that’s what was noticed Tuesday by a state trooper.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Renken says it appears the man, Bradley Beckstrom, ran off a road near the interstate on Sunday afternoon. He was stuck on a steep embankment, not visible to passing drivers.

Renken says Beckstrom tried to catch the attention of passing motorists first by throwing his wallet near the roadway and then the sweater into the tree.

Deputies and the State Patrol had been looking for Beckstrom after his employer reported he failed to show up for work on Monday.

He was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.
