The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., will present an organ recital featuring Tyrell Lundman Sunday at 2 p.m.

Lundman will perform “Prelude and Fugue in D Minor,” by Bach, “Sonata No. VI” by Mendelssohn and more.

The church will also be open from 1 to 2 p.m. for self-guided tours, meditation and hospitality.

There will be a reception following the performance.

Comic opera

Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2715 S. Ray, will present the comic opera, “The Stoned Guest” by P.D.Q. Bach Sunday at 6:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

Directed by Tim Campbell, the show will feature Heidi Gnos Kuban, Shannon Baker, Brian MacDoogal, Erik Samuelson and pianist Andrea Hope.

The performance will last about 35 minutes.

Plant sale and swap

Riverfront Farms and Holy Trinity Church will present a plant sale and swap, along with a raised bed work party Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon in Evelyn’s Garden at the Brandon Wagner Youth Memorial House, 2605 W. Boone.

Participants should bring work clothes, gloves, hats and any drills, saws, and other garden-related tools to construct raised garden beds.

Special service

St. David’s Episcopal Church, 7315 N. Wall, will present a Contemporary Celtic Eucharist today at 7 p.m.

The service will focus on the gift of the Spirit and will include contemplation, conversation and community.

The Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry, will offer a special service featuring the Rev. Donald Castro from the Seattle Betsuin Temple Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, 4449 N. Nevada St., will present “The Man from Snowy River” Friday at 7 p.m.

The Christian Singles Fellowship will hold its May meeting Saturday at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of North Addison Baptist Church, 6120 N. Addison.
