TV’s best bets: ‘Earl’ may choose list over wife

Tonight’s must-see

“My Name is Earl,” 8 p.m., NBC.

It’s a night of hour-long season finales for NBC. That starts with Earl deciding that Billie (Alyssa Milano) isn’t the mate karma had intended. He asks for advice from his dad, who has his personal solution: Stay at work and rarely see your wife. For Earl, that means spending more time on his list.

Tonight’s might-see

“CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” 8 and 9 p.m., CBS.

First comes a rerun of the episode in which the lab workers investigate the “miniature murders” case on their own. Then comes the season finale, possibly a pivotal one. Warrick Brown has faced legal charges –as has the actor (Gary Dourdan) playing him. Now Warrick is charged with killing a Las Vegas gangster.

Other choices include:

“Ugly Betty,” 8 p.m., ABC. Betty and Gio have separately agreed to chaperone Justin’s middle-school dance. Also, Hilda tries to attract Coach Diaz.

“Grey’s Anatomy,” 9 p.m., ABC. Meredith feels she doesn’t need more therapy; her therapist (Amy Madigan) disagrees. Meanwhile, Cristina continues to act oddly, since learning of Burke’s life without her.

“The Office,” 9 p.m., NBC. Toby is leaving and Michael wants a big party. Angela refuses, leaving the job with Phyllis. Meanwhile, there’s a new human-resources director, played by the talented Amy Ryan. Dwight and Meredith haze her.

“Tougher in Alaska,” 10 p.m., History Channel. This hour visits the world of salmon fishing. We meet a high-tech boat and another that’s a family effort; the owner needs money for one daughter’s tuition and another’s wedding.

“Sex: The Revolution,” 10 p.m., VH1. This interesting, four-part series (including a rerun at 9) concludes with a look at the 1980s and ‘90s.

“ER,” 10:01 p.m., NBC. Producers have promised this will be an explosive season finale, literally. The trouble starts when a mysterious patient (Steve Buscemi) arrives.

“Lost,” 10:02 p.m., ABC. A showdown is beginning between the island people and the freighter people.
