Find your favorite music videos online

The Spokesman-Review

Music and YouTube are a natural fit. If you want a site that quickly finds YouTube videos based on a musical artist’s name, as the site Last.FM does, try this one: http://tv.timbormans.com.

Another option is to search by a Last.FM user name. That produces results based on the music preferences of that person from his or her Last.FM account. This mashup is best described as Web TV based on one’s music choices.

Identifight.org

One of the most curious, potentially helpful sites we’ve come across is Identifight.org.

The site’s goal is to identify all the Web sites that can be associated with a given personal e-mail address.

Results may surprise you, especially if you’re busy on several social network sites. The sites currently enabled for Identifight are Flickr, Friendster, StumbleUpon, Yelp, Spock, LiveJournal and four others.

Disabled for now are Friendster, Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn and Digg.

Identifight goes through a search and lists a summary for each Web site account, plus details for how to change the privacy settings for each site. There are also links to each site’s privacy statement.

Ditto.com

Ditto.com is a search site that produces results made up of Web images related to keywords you enter in the search box. After the Ditto results are displayed in a series of thumbnails, links take you to the original source page.

What Ditto does better than other sites is find images based on names or topics. What it doesn’t do well, in our view, is offer quick text summaries of the underlying pages those pictures come from. Results seem to vary greatly depending on the keyword chosen.
