Museum of North Idaho has received a $1,825 grant from the Idaho Humanities Council.

The award will help fund Nampa musician Gary Eller’s field work in North Idaho to research, record and preserve historically based songs of Idaho.

•Ciao Mambo restaurant in Hayden recently donated $4,500 to Kootenai Diabetes and Endocrinology Center.

The award was the result of the new eatery’s pre-opening night sales in which diners paid regular menu price for meals but the proceeds were donated to the center. KDEC plans to use the money to fund two separate children’s programs and purchase two glucose monitors.
