Two downtown stabbings reported

Two men were hospitalized Saturday night after being stabbed in separate incidents downtown.

Spokane police arrested Michael Flores, 58, and booked him into Spokane County Jail on a first-degree assault charge for allegedly stabbing a man in the abdomen near the Arctic Circle, 1321 W. Third Ave., according to a Spokane Police Department news release.

Police responded about 7 p.m. The victim was treated for an abdominal stab wound, and his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

Another man underwent surgery for serious injuries to his torso after being stabbed during a fight involving several people that started at the downtown skate park, according to a news release. Police responded about 9:25 p.m. to 328 W. Third Ave., finding friends had taken him to the hospital.

The victim said he did not know his attacker, police said. Anyone with information should call (509) 242-TIPS.
