Vandals click on offense, sweep Louisiana Tech

Haley Larsen had 11 kills and the Idaho Vandals hit 29 percent as a team in a 25-16, 25-13, 25-14 volleyball sweep of the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters Thursday night in Moscow, Idaho.

Kelsey James had 33 assists and 10 digs and Kelsey Yonker had 18 digs for Idaho (16-8, 9-4 WAC). Louisiana Tech fell to 4-20, 0-13.

•Jacque Brown and Hayley Hills collected 12 kills apiece and the Eastern Washington Eagles (14-10, 9-4 Big Sky) earned a 25-19, 21-25, 25-18, 25-17 victory over the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks (13-8, 5-7) at Cheney.

•Brittany Lowe had 13 kills to lead the Santa Clara Broncos (16-6, 7-3 WCC) to a 25-17, 25-20, 25-17 sweep of the Gonzaga Bulldogs (9-18, 2-8) at Santa Clara, Calif.

Men’s golf

Washington State University junior Kevin Tucker has been selected as the Pacific-10 Conference golfer of the month for October.

Tucker earned his first collegiate tournament title by shooting 3-under-par 213 at the Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif. He also had top-20 finishes in the Sycuan Invitational and the Wimberly Intercollegiate.
