Whits deserve more

I find it interesting that you use the front part of your sports section (Nov. 1) to laud (or bemoan) the defeat of WSU, UW, EWU and UI in your writing, and then on page 10, the last page, a short article on the win of Whitworth University over PLU.

What’s the problem? Do you view that conference as “chump change?” Haven’t you grasped the significance of the Whits’ success the past several years?

As a “long ago” graduate of Whitworth and its advantage to this community, I would appreciate a little more attention to their successes than page 10. It is obviously not a Pac-10 league, but it is pretty darned good football and deserves a little more intentional coverage.
