St. John Vianney auction fundraiser next Saturday

St. John Vianney Catholic School will put on its 22nd annual auction fundraiser next Saturday at Northern Quest Casino in Airway Heights. A silent auction begins at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:45 and a live auction at 7:20.

The dozens of items up for bid include a basketball autographed by John Stockton, gift certificates, crafts, a Disney World vacation package and a guided fly-fishing trip. A complete list of items is available online at www.st.johnvianney.com. The theme for the evening is “A Night at the Oscars.”

The event is the largest fundraiser for the school, which offers scholarships to students and a pre-school program. Tickets are $40, or $35 for seniors. Call 926-7987 for reservations.

Teddy Bear Tea

The children of Zion Lutheran Church will host a Teddy Bear Tea on Thursday. Those attending are asked to bring a teddy bear that will be donated to seniors in a local assisted-living center. The dinner and tea is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the church, 8304 E. Buckeye. The cost is $2 in addition to the bear. Call the church office at 926-5407 for reservations.
