Sirti tenant moving into new offices

A Spokane tech manufacturer is moving into new offices this week after seven years as a tenant at Sirti, the state-funded technology assistance agency.

MatriCal Inc., which became a Sirti tenant in 2002 after relocating to Spokane from Pennsylvania, is moving to the Riverwalk Plaza, 1007 E. Trent.

The new offices provide 17,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space. MatriCal previously occupied 9,500 square feet in the Sirti building downtown.

Sirti is looking for a new tenant for the office, lab and manufacturing space MatriCal is vacating, said Linda Hemingway, director of market development and communications for the agency. MatriCal employs 31 people. When it moved to Spokane it had just three.

It manufactures tools and equipment used by pharmaceutical companies. MatriCal’s products are sold throughout Europe and the United States.

Among its products is the MiniStore, a robotic drug-sample storage-and-retrieval unit used by pharmaceutical makers to hold samples of different chemicals.

MatriCal recently announced it’s shipping a new product called Automap, an automated processing unit designed for high-volume tube and vial processing.
