ID: Meteorites Attack contains half of the now-defunct Mistress and the Misters.

Style: Dance/metal/punk/experimental

Roster: Bassist Shane Taylor, drummer Mikey Dane and guitarist Chris Henderson.

Songwriting: Each of us does our homework,” Taylor said. “We practice and write parts in our off time and bring them together at practice. At that point we rip apart the ideas and usually turn it into something different that we all like better.”

Live show: “When I get on stage my intent is to stop thinking completely and have as much fun as possible. Usually this involves dancing and looking like a weirdo,” Taylor said.

Local scene: “Love it,” Taylor said. “The rent is cheap and humans come to shows.”

Next gig: Oct. 10 at Mootsy’s, 406 W. Sprague Ave., in a Platform Presents show with locals Godbear and Brooklyn experimental psych-rock octet Flaming Fire. Cover is $5.

Spin Cycle features local musicians weekly.
