Pullman

Help sought finding bar assault suspect

Police are seeking help in finding a suspect after a Pullman man suffered a broken jaw in a bar fight last month.

Officers found the injured man at Stubblefields bar, also known as Mike’s Place, about 1:50 a.m. Sept. 6, the day of the WSU football game against the California Bears. The man underwent surgery at Pullman Regional Hospital.

On Friday, investigators obtained a forensic artist sketch of his assailant, whom they described as a college-age man wearing a black baseball cap. He might have some hair on his chin.

It’s the second time this year Pullman police have asked for help solving an assault at Stubblefields in which the victim suffered a broken jaw. In March, police issued a plea for information regarding a Jan. 20 assault in which an Asian-American WSU student was punched.

Anyone with information on the Sept. 6 assault is asked to call Detective Greg Umbright at (509) 334-0802.
