Give credit where credit is due

I am writing to inform you of your Valley Voice so-called sports page.

It’s curious to me how you don’t know that West Valley High School is in the Valley, and that their accomplishments should be in the paper.

The cross country team took first in both boys and girls teams at Clarkston. There was zero press, not even in the Spokesman’s stats. That was on Sept. 20.

They ran at Cheney Sept. 30. While there was a blurb in the Spokesman sports section, there was absolutely nothing in the Valley Voice Oct. 2. But let the GSL teams run and it’s front page news.

These kids work and train hard and the coaching staff is outstanding. Let’s give them a little credit.

Begging on corners just another scam

It is a shame to see people at the intersections begging for money.

Those signs that say, “Will work for food,” just crack me up. “I’m homeless and lost, God bless.”

You say hop in, I have some work you and the reply is, “Oh, no! This is a good corner.”

There are all kinds of scams all over the country and start in Washington, D.C. I think there should be a law put into effect to keep these people off the streets. We pay for shelters and food for these unfortunate people anyway.

I’ll tell you what, get my address from the paper or look me up in the phone book and send me money. Hey, what’s a little change to you. God Bless.
