Geologist’s name wrong

Geologist J Harlen Bretz’s name was misspelled in a Sunday story in the Today section because of a reporter’s error.

Meeting mischaracterized

The Spokane Regional Health District board voted in an open meeting last week to offer a job to a candidate for the position of health officer. A Page One story Saturday incorrectly noted the nature of the meeting because of a reporter’s error.

Error on map

A map accompanying Saturday’s Page One story about a land purchase by Spokane County contained incorrect information because of a graphic artist’s error. The Geiger Spur ends at Hayford Road rather than continuing south and east toward Spokane International Airport.

LaRocco quote wrong

A quote attributed to Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Larry LaRocco should have read: “I will reach out to him (Sen. Mike Crapo) as I did when I was in Congress.” The statement was incorrect on Page B2 Sunday because of a copy editor’s error.

Dogs’ names switched

Because of a photographer’s error, the names of two dogs – Abby and Becky – were mistakenly reversed in a photo published with the story headlined “Abby’s Expedition” in Saturday’s Valley Voice and Sunday’s Northwest section.
