Associated Press

ELLENSBURG – A 24-year-old Central Washington University student is dead after a 35-foot fall through a skylight onto a concrete floor in Ellensburg.

Gary D. Sivey, of East Wenatchee, died at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital in Ellensburg after the accident at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Capt. Dave Radcliff, a paramedic with Kittitas Valley Fire and Rescue, said Sivey was on the roof of Kelleher Motor Co. when he “fell through the skylight onto the concrete floor of the shop.”

Sivey was working for wireless Internet provider Cascade 1 Inc. when he fell.

The State Department of Labor and Industries is investigating the accident.

The university at Ellensburg said Sivey was attending the university with his wife, Alisha, and was a construction management pre-major.
