Knowshon Moreno quieted one of the loudest crowds in college football, running for a 68-yard score and finishing with 163 yards rushing to lift No. 9 Georgia to a 52-38 victory over 11th-ranked LSU on Saturday at Baton Rouge, La.

Georgia linebacker Darryl Gamble returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns of 37 and 53 yards.

The game showcased two of the best running backs in the Southeastern Conference, and neither disappointed. While Moreno powered the Bulldogs (7-1, 4-1 SEC), Charles Scott gained 144 yards and scored two touchdowns for LSU (5-2, 3-2).

The Bulldogs had a big edge at quarterback, however, with the experienced Matthew Stafford calmly delivering clutch throws, none better than his 49-yard touchdown to freshman A.J. Green while the Tigers brought heavy pressure on third-and-10 in the third quarter.

Stafford was 17 of 26 for 249 yards and two touchdown passes, and also ran for a 7-yard score in the fourth quarter while improving to 29-5 as a starter.

LSU’s tandem of first-year quarterbacks, Jarrett Lee and Andrew Hatch, lacked the big-game savvy to match the performance of Georgia’s junior.

(2) Alabama 29, Tennessee 9: At Knoxville, Tenn., John Parker Wilson passed for 188 yards and ran for a touchdown as the Crimson Tide (8-0, 5-0 SEC) cruised to a win over the Volunteers (3-5, 1-4).

(4) Oklahoma 58, Kansas St. 35: At Manhattan, Kan., DeMarco Murray racked up 167 total yards and four touchdowns, and the Sooners (7-1, 4-1 Big 12) sustained a 21-point Kansas State rally in the highest-scoring first half in school history to beat the Wildcats (4-4, 1-3).

(5) Florida 63, Kentucky 5: At Gainesville, Fla., Tim Tebow threw two touchdown passes, ran for two scores and the Gators (6-1, 4-1 SEC) thumped the injury-depleted Wildcats (5-3, 1-3), extending their winning streak in the series to 22 games.

(8) Texas Tech 63, (19) Kansas 21: At Lawrence, Kan., Graham Harrell passed for 386 yards and five touchdowns and the Red Raiders (8-0, 4-0 Big 12) breezed past the Jayhawks (5-3, 2-2), scoring on eight of their first nine possessions.

Louisville 24, (14) South Florida 20: At Louisville, Ky., Hunter Cantwell threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Scott Long, their second scoring connection of the game, and the Cardinals (5-2, 1-1 Big East) upset the penalty-plagued Bulls (6-2, 1-2).

(15) TCU 54, Wyoming 7: At Fort Worth, Texas, Jimmy Young had a school-record 226 yards receiving and caught three touchdown passes to help the Horned Frogs (8-1, 5-0 Mountain West) defeat the Cowboys (2-6, 0-5).

(16) Missouri 58, Colorado 0: At Columbia, Mo., Chase Daniel matched his school record with five touchdown passes and the Tigers’ (6-2, 2-2 Big 12) beleaguered defense handed the Buffaloes (4-4, 2-2) their first shutout since 1988 in a rout.

Rutgers 54, (17) Pittsburgh 34: At Pittsburgh, Mike Teel threw five of his school-record six touchdown passes in the first half and the Scarlet Knights (3-5, 2-2 Big East) came out throwing to confound the Panthers’ (5-2, 2-1) previously reliable defense during an easy victory.

(18) BYU 42, UNLV 35: At Provo, Utah, Max Hall threw for four touchdowns and the Cougars (7-1, 3-1 Mountain West) avoided a second straight loss by rallying to beat the Rebels (3-5, 0-4).
