Bazaar season under way

If you are looking for holiday gifts or decorations, this is the weekend to go hunting.

Liberty United Methodist Church, 1526 E. 11th Ave., will present its annual bazaar and bake sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will include soup, pie and a beverage for $4. Pie and a beverage only will be available for $3.

•The women’s group at Central United Methodist Church, 518 W. Third Ave., will throw its Harvest Festival Bazaar Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The menu includes turkey casserole, salad, carrots, a roll, beverage and dessert for $6 for adults and $3 for children younger than 12.

St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 316 E. 24th, will present its bazaar and bake sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Halloween events

Cataldo Catholic School will present its annual Halloween Carnival today from 4 to 7 p.m. in the St. Augustine Parish Center, 428 W. 19th Ave.

Anyone attending the event is invited to wear a costume.

Proceeds will benefit eighth- grade activities at the school.

Trick-or-treaters are invited to enjoy hot dogs, chili, cider, hot chocolate, tea and coffee.

The event is free, but donations will be accepted.

Concerts

Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2715 S. Ray, will present the Bonners Ferry Wild Mountain Thyme Choir on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Donations will be accepted for Tumani School in Tanzania.

•The Unitarian Universalist Church of Spokane, 4340 W. Fort George Wright Drive, will present pianist Linda Sieverts and soprano Susan Windham in concert Sunday at 7 p.m.

The two will perform a program titled “This Time It’s Political.” Tickets are $20, or $15 for students, and are available at the door.

Special service

St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 316 E. 24th, will celebrate All Saints Day during worship Sunday at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m.

The service will feature the St. Mark’s Chancel Choir, which will perform “Te Deum” by John Rutter.

Celebration of ministry

Emmanuel and St. Paul Lutheran churches are celebrating 211 years of ministry with dinner, hymns and a program Saturday at 5 p.m. at 314 S. Spruce St.

Proceeds will benefit the Emmanuel/St. Paul Soup Kitchen.
