Schweitzer stars in Jib Jam flick

Some of the top freeride skiers in the world soared over Schweitzer this spring with the cameras humming, and now the finished Jib Jam flick is returning for its world premiere Thursday at the Panida Theater in Sandpoint.

See John Spriggs, Kyler Cooley and Oscar Scherlin doing their stuff on the big screen, along with another film by Poor Boyz Productions called “Reasons.” Prizes, too.

Show starts 7 p.m. Cost: $7.

What: Multi-course salmon dinner by Chef David Hill followed by Washington commercial fishermen and wheat farmers discussion on the value of wheat and wild salmon to our region and the opportunities for restoring wild Snake River salmon.

Don’t put away those bikes

The Chewelah Valley Lions Fall Bike Tour starts at 10 a.m. on Oct. 5 for a 25- or 50-mile scenic round-trip ride starting and ending at Chewelah City Park.

The 50-milers will breeze through Springdale and past Waitts Lake, fueled by food stops along the way.
