Unitarian Church hosts piano concert

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Spokane, 4340 W. Fort George Wright Drive, will present pianist Jody Graves, director of keyboard studies at Eastern Washington University, Sunday at 7 p.m.

Performing with Graves will be violinist Jason Bell and soprano Susan Windham.

The cost to attend is $20 or $15 for students. Tickets are available at the door.

Family concert

St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 316 E. 24th Ave., will present a concert for families with small children Saturday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. featuring the band, Graceful Ruckus.

The families are invited to jump, shout, praise and be thankful.

Lectures and classes

Whitworth University, 300 W. Hawthorne Road, will present a prayer retreat Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Seeley Mudd Chapel on the school campus.

The retreat, “Embracing a Grace-Filled Rhythm of Life,” is for clergy and laity members interested in learning about grace-filled prayer, study, community and ministry.

The cost is $50 and includes lunch. Registration is required.

•The Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., will present an introductory to Buddhism classes starting Sunday at 1 p.m.

The course will discuss the basic principals of Buddhism and will last five weeks.

The cost is $20.
