Pair charged with robbery, kidnapping
Conflict began over calls, authorities say
A fight over a girl led to criminal charges after authorities say two North Idaho men held two others at gunpoint, then forced them to drive to Coeur d’Alene to buy drugs.
The incident began in Hayden early Tuesday when Chase A. Nutting and Jamison D. Delaney-Waymire, both 18, met Jamesin M. Kretz, 19, and Timothy B. Green, 20, at a home near North Hillview Drive and East Dakota Avenue, just west of the Hayden Lake Country Club, to talk about harassing phone calls being made to Kretz’s girlfriend, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department.
Delaney-Waymire ambushed Kretz and Green as Nutting was talking to them, ordering them to the ground with a stolen shotgun while Nutting demanded their wallets, the sheriff’s department said.
But the men had no money, so Nutting and Delaney-Waymire forced them to drive them to a convenience store to buy cigarettes, then to Kretz’s house in Coeur d’Alene to buy drugs, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Kretz managed to call 911, and Coeur d’Alene police arrived at the North Julia Street home about 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Nutting, of Coeur d’Alene, was arrested on charges of burglary, grand theft, petty theft, kidnapping, robbery and providing false information to a police officer, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Delaney-Waymire, of Hayden, was charged with kidnapping, assault with intent to commit a serious felony, robbery and grand theft by possession.
