Another CdA postal carrier rescues resident

Coeur d’Alene Press
A mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Coeur d’Alene is the second this year to be recognized after rescuing an elderly woman who had fallen in her home and was unable to get up. Postal carrier Deb Allred says she got a bad feeling Tuesday when she delivered mail to 79-year-old Yvonne McDonald and noticed newspapers were piling up in the woman’s mailbox. Allred found McDonald on her bathroom floor, where she had been immobilized since Sunday. In January, a Coeur d’Alene postal carrier was credited with saving Eugenie Simons, an elderly woman who had fallen in her home and was unable to move for several days. Isaac Fish, 21, alerted police after noticing the woman’s mail stacking up in her box.
