Colville resident, 68, killed in one-car crash

A Colville woman was killed Wednesday evening in a one-car accident 15 miles east of Colville that also injured the driver, the Washington State Patrol said.

Linda Ann Lobdell, 68, the passenger in a 1994 Honda Civic, died at the scene of the crash on state Highway 20 about 6 p.m. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to WSP.

The driver, 65-year-old John Edward Chaney, was treated and released from Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville.

Troopers said Chaney was headed east on the highway when he lost control of the vehicle and went off the roadway onto the eastbound shoulder. The vehicle partially rolled and struck a tree.
