Search for owner of veteran’s ring goes national

The search for the owner of a Vietnam Veteran’s ring found in Spokane Valley has expanded nationwide after the Pennsylvania company that sold the ring pledged to try finding the owner. A representative from Veterans Commemorative viewed the original story KHQ aired Thursday and verified they sold the ring sometime after 2005. The representative pledged to try finding who bought the ring based on the initials and dates of service inscribed on the jewelry. A cashier at an Ace Hardware store in Spokane Valley first found the ring in the 2007. It was placed in the lost and found until last week when another cashier rediscovered it while spring-cleaning. The ring is encrusted with a red stone bearing the United States Marine Corps emblem. The two commemorate the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C. and service in the Republic of Vietnam. The representative from the ring company said they hope to trace their records and find the owner sometime next week. A basic search of the company’s records showed no matches in the Washington or Idaho area, according to the representative. The ring remains at the Ace Hardware located at the intersection of Sprague Avenue and Sullivan Road in Spokane Valley.
