Gonzaga names McCulloh interim president
Thayne M. McCulloh has been appointed interim president of Gonzaga University, replacing the Rev. Robert J. Spitzer.
McCulloh was appointed Friday by the board of trustees. He will take over after Spitzer finishes his presidency on July 15. He has spent nearly 19 years at Gonzaga, and will serve until a new president is chosen.
McCulloh, 44, has served the past two years as interim academic vice president. Prior to that he was vice president for administration and planning, associate academic vice president, dean of financial services and other posts.
McCulloh was raised in Washington, D.C. and Seattle and has a doctorate in experimental social psychology from Oxford University.
