Luncheon, fair mark Earth Day

Earth Day Coeur d’Alene, along with Harding Family Center, North Idaho College and the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, will celebrate the ninth annual Earth Day on Thursday and Saturday.

NIC will host an Earth Day Luncheon on Thursday, from noon to 1 p.m.

The event will include Kootenai County Solid Waste Recycling awards and guest speaker Dennis Cunningham, president of ActiveWest Development.

An Earth Day Fair will be at the Harding Family Center, 411 N. 15th St. in Coeur d’Alene, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The fair is free and open to the public and will include food, entertainment and kids’ activities.

Masons donate to school

The members of the Kaniksu Masonic Lodge No. 97 donated $1,000 of the proceeds from a recent Hunting and Fire Arms Show to Priest River Junior High School in Priest River.

The Lodge has also donated proceeds from the Fire Arms Show to fund two $500 college scholarships for local high school graduates. The scholarships are an annual donation for the Masons.
