Spokane street crews are working to repair a water line that broke with such force this afternoon in northwest Spokane that it has buckled the asphalt on Boone Avenue at Summit Boulevard. “The road was damaged because water came up through the pavement,” said Al Ristau, the water department maintenance and construction supervisor. An old piece of pipe split, and will be replaced, Ristau said. Summit Boulevard is blocked on the north side of Boone while crews work to repair the pipe, which should be completed later this evening. The asphalt will be replaced as well. The San Souci mobile home park is directly below the damage, but tenants are still able to access the neighborhood, Ristau said.
