Sharing the road

The Spokesman-Review

Thank you for the article “Sharing the road.” It is going to take a lot of patience and education to make this “road sharing” harmonious. Personally, I am a casual rider and have no problem “sharing the road” with autos and riders alike.

Recently, two riders were meandering from center line to curb. When I tapped my horn and let them know I wanted by, I received a major dirty look. Just this past week a group of 20-plus riders were using the entire lane at 15 mph (speed limit 30 mph). Both of these instances happened on High Drive, around 7 a.m., during the week on my way to work.

Auto owners pay the majority of the tax that build roads for automobiles. We riders should at a minimum respect that.
