Property tax deadline Thursday

That’s the sound of time running out for Washington state residents to pay the first half of their 2009 property tax.

Property owners have until Thursday to pay those taxes to their local county treasurer. It can be mailed, by state law requires the envelope to be postmarked by April 30. That means if you plan to mail it tomorrow, make sure it’s dropped off somewhere that it will be picked up and postmarked that day.

Payment can also be made by credit card or over the Internet or credit card.

To pay by credit card, call 1-800-2paytax or use the Website at www.officialpayments.com, with jurisdiction code 5606

To pay by Internet check go to www.spokanecounty.org/treasurer and follow the instructions.
