Cathedral hosting organ concert

The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., will present organist Christopher Nelson in concert Sunday at 4 p.m.

Nelson will perform “Symphony in D Minor” by Cesar Frank and transcribed for organ by Calvin Hampton.

A $5 donation will help support the church’s concert series.

Vacation Bible school

St. Matthews Baptist Church, 2815 W. Sunset Blvd., will offer “Wildwood Forest,” a vacation Bible school, Monday through Aug. 14.

The evenings will begin with dinner served from 5 to 5:45 p.m. and classes from 6 to 8:15 p.m.

Everyone from preschool through adults is invited to attend.

Registration is required by Friday.

Knox Presbyterian Church, 806 W. Knox Ave., will offer its vacation Bible school, “A Prayer Safari,” Monday through Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Kids from age 3 through those entering the seventh grade are invited to attend.
