AppleSox topple RiverHawks in 12th inning

Burke connected against Jake Perkins (1-2), who entered in the 10th after Colby Hawk worked nine solid innings for Spokane (19-28). Hawk allowed one earned run, struck out three and walked none.

Paris Shewey (3-1), the third AppleSox pitcher, stranded Maverick Olivares at second base in Spokane’s 12th inning.

Conor Moore’s RBI single in the seventh gave Spokane a 2-1 lead, but AppleSox pinch-hitter Cody Keefer doubled with two out in the ninth and scored on Matt Moynihan’s single.

Wenatchee (33-14), the East Division champion, is 7-4 against Spokane this season. The teams will close out the regular season today at Avista.
