Jody Burns recognized for saving life

Coeur d’Alene Police Chief Wayne Longo and Fire Chief Kenny Gabriel recently recognized Jody Burns, a member of the Coeur d’Alene community, at a city council meeting for his role in saving the life of Michael Brandt.

Brandt was the victim of a vehicle fire July 24. Burns heard the explosion from his hotel room and saw the vehicle on fire in the parking lot. He broke a car window with a brick and pulled Brandt out.

Brandt suffered serious burn injuries.
