Ballot decision quick, easy

The Spokesman-Review

I received my primary ballot on July 31 and mailed it back on Aug. 1. There was only one issue on the ballot, and that was whether or not we should continue the additional 0.1 of 1 percent on our sales tax to support our criminal justice funding. I voted yes because it supports our Sheriff’s Office, the prosecutor’s office, the courts and our public defender’s office.

If it doesn’t pass, we will see some drastic cuts in those offices. This tax protects you, and the money is desperately needed to provide for our safety and protection. Join me and vote yes for the renewal of the 2004 criminal justice and public safety sales tax.

State Sen. Bob McCaslin
