Envision the American way

The Spokesman-Review

Envision Spokane is a vision, folks! A restating of the long-held American vision of a “government of the people, by the people and for the people.” Why is a process designed to give people more voice, more power to govern themselves, seen as “socialist” or “communist?” It may be that some folks are so conditioned to being manipulated by fear that anything that requires rethinking and re-examining what they already believe seems threatening.

Placing it on the ballot in November is inviting all Spokane citizens to discussions and conversations about our future, to wake up and look at what’s been happening and where we are headed and whether wisdom would indicate a change in direction. What do we want our beautiful city and community to look like in 20, 30, 40 or 60 years? The future is ours!

Just for the record, Mr. Thomas Linzey, one of the spark plugs in the visioning process, is not an outsider! He owns a home in West Central, a car with a Washington license, and is registered to vote in this state.
