Snyder against Envision plan

The Spokesman-Review

As a candidate for City Council in District 2, I am pleased and thankful for the tremendous support I have received from so many people and organizations in this community. Unfortunately, in an apparent attempt to mislead voters, there is one organization that has printed a piece in their industry magazine that incorrectly identifies me as the “Envision Spokane candidate.”

I want to reiterate now what I have stated many times during this campaign. I do not support the Envision Spokane Community Bill of Rights. While I respect the hard work that has gone into the Community Bill of Rights, I will be voting against the initiative. I am a business owner and landlord and I understand the challenges businesses face every day in this community.

I am in favor of creative, sustainable economic development, well-maintained streets and public services, and above all, focusing on building the quality of life that makes Spokane a great place to live and work. As someone who has both developed property and been involved with neighborhood planning, my goal is to help to bridge the gap between these two groups. We need to build community, not just square feet.
